Points of interest (POI) for Amazon Game Studio's New world: Aeternum launch. I took primary ownership over blockout, all in engine art passes, and performance optimization for Spire Rock Fort and Sable Port.
For Spire Rock Fort I built out the full rock spire and player critical path from ground up. The houses were recycled content from an existing kit. The set dressing was themed for the controlling NPC faction - the story elements included hardware left over from building the fort, defensive fortifications, and piles of treasure. Faction flags were placed in areas where players traversing the land surrounding the POI would understand what NPC's were controlling Spire Rock Fort.
Sable Port went through different iterations. It once existed in concept as a sprawling port city. In blockout it extended much further out to sea with vessels waiting in the distance. Just as Spire Rock Fort I had primary ownership of this POI through all its iterations, to final in game representation. The pier with the ship docked is dressed with offloaded goods and a small fishery tent. The middle of the pier has an offloading area for small paddle boats. The main entrance covered by tattered cloth has a tent shading more offloaded goods from the sun.
All points of interest were a team effort, Listed below are some people I directly worked with who contributed talent to creating the above points of interest for New World: Aeternum.
